Hi, I’m David

I am an interaction designer with a knack for multi-media and technology. In a way, I am a typical Jack of all trades, as I have dabbled in areas ranging from graphic design and video production to event organisation and software development. By now, however, I have learned what it was in each of these disciplines that motivated and enthused me. It is in my nature to empathise with others and I have an inherent desire to help and entertain people and draw much pleasure from making someone’s life just a bit more simple or fun.

Senior human-centered / UX Designer

At Namahn I work as a Senior Human-Centered Designer. I spend most of my time working with a small team on the UX design of the websites for SONY Europe. I also developed and give Namahn’s training on Mobile Design.

Lecturer/Coach + coordinator

At the Technical University of Eindhoven I coached students in team projects, gave a class on the use of video in the design process and was second year coordinator. Industrial Design.

OWner + Interaction Designer

At Gamut, I performed a broad range of activities in the areas of Interaction Design, Visual Communication and Design Education. Over the years I have designed and developed many interactive products, videos, and animations. I have worked autonomously on projects related to wearable electronics, augmented reality and location-based applications. As design educator I regularly give workshops on video narrativity and animation and organise creative sessions.

Heading

Before I started Gamut, I worked with a bunch of people on NoTV Visual Music where we published DVD’s of VJ’s. My role was to build the interfaces. At Wunderman is where I had my first job, working on the global Ericsson Mobile websites as teamleader of the content-team. I got my Master’s Degree in Interaction Design at the Utrecht School of the Arts.

Online Community for Sony Europe

We redesigned the entire online community for SONY Europe, working withing the constraints of the Lithium platform.

Purchase journey for Sony europe

Recently Sony introduced a global design for the marketing pages of the SONY websites. We re-designed our pages for the purchase journey.

Mobile Design training

To both share and strengthen Namahn’s knowledge of designing for mobile devices, we created the Mobile Design training. The course has been popular and well received.
